Relationship between neck muscle strength and cross-sectional area of neck muscle.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between neck muscle strength and cross-sectional area(CSA) of neck muscles in athletes and obtain a fundamental data to conduct a neck muscle training  to prevent from neck injuries. 
It was shown that neck extension strength measured at 54 degrees mainly represented the CSA of neck extensor muscles.
