The aims of this study were to investigate prejudice towards people with intellectual disabilities (PWID) and the effect of direct contact and personal experiences (field training or volunteer activities) on students’ attitudes, and to examine the persistence of the effect. The results revealed that the difference of the normalization factor was significant between those with and without contact experiences , t=3.74, p<.05 (Figure 2.). An analysis of variance showed that the effect of the grade was significant on the normalization factor, F (2,219) = 5.08, p<.05. Post hoc comparisons showed significant differences between freshman and junior students.
