The aim of the study was to compare the kinematics of the breakfall motion for two different judo throw techniques in 8 experienced and five novice judokas. The motion data of the breakfall for osoto-gari and ouchi-gari were collected with a three-dimensional motion analysis technique. Our result demonstrated that there was a significant difference in the peak horizontal rotational velocity of the head segment. In addition, there were obvious differences in the velocity curves and the kinematics pattern between the two techniques.
