COVID-19 and Japan’s COVID-19 measures do have impacts on Japan’s fertility and pregnancy intention for second birth, but the influence is not significant. Mothers who are in their late 30s or 40s will not concern COVID-19 in their pregnancy plan due to the time limitation of childbearing years and the risk of childbearing at aged 40 or above. Therefore, in order to recover Japan’s fertility, how to satisfy couple’s ideal number of births is the key point.
